Twisted Pair Solutions Previews Unified Communications Compatibility and Certification with WAVE 4.5

Seattle, Washington, USA – September 30, 2008 – Twisted Pair Solutions (www.twistpair.com), a pioneer in unified communications software built to open standards, today previewed the capabilities of WAVE® 4.5, the next version of the industry’s most widely deployed unified communications and interoperability solution. Based on customer and partner demand, the next version of WAVE will support Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), a compliance requirement for U.S. military and federal agencies, as well as an enhanced user interface, increased compatibility with Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, and ETC DS-1800 radio gateway support.

“Our WAVE technology has advanced very significantly this year with two major releases having already shipped in 2008,” said Tom Guthrie, President and CEO at Twisted Pair Solutions. “With support for both IPv6 and Windows Vista, WAVE 4.5 will address two strategic requirements for future-proofing deployments by large commercial and government customers.”

Widely deployed by private and public organizations worldwide, WAVE is the industry’s only software-based and SDK-optimized unified communications solution. Trusted by mission critical organizations across the globe, WAVE enables real-time, secure, group communications over the IP network. Leveraging IP networks as a unifying medium, WAVE connects workers who are using disparate and oftentimes incompatible communications technologies, including two-way radios, personal computers, cell phones and IP phones, into a single, interoperable and easily manageable communications system.

New features in WAVE 4.5:

Support for Next Generation Internet Protocol
WAVE supports the next generation Internet Protocol (IPv6), a standard in mission-critical environments, including the U.S. military and other federal agencies. With WAVE, organizations can manage both IPv6 and IPv4 environments simultaneously.

Enhanced User Interface
ViewNet provides WAVE administrators with a graphical interface that displays all endpoints in a WAVE system along with their primary and secondary connections. This tool provides a simple, easy to use interface to quickly view an entire WAVE domain and the ability to zoom into a specific area in full detail. Each node can be queried for ID, IP address and other information helpful in system maintenance and network debugging.

Windows Vista Compatibility
The WAVE Desktop Communicator, Web Communicator and Dispatch Communicator will be Windows Vista compatible, having been tested and certified against Windows Vista Enterprise Edition. Custom WAVE clients built using the WAVE SDK, are also Vista compatible.

Windows Server 2008 Compatibility
The WAVE Management Server and WAVE Media Server have been tested and will be certified with Windows Server 2008. With WAVE, organizations can simultaneously support deployments that include both Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 components.

ETC DS-1800 Gateway Certification
The ETC DS-1800 radio gateway will be added to the list of WAVE supported gateways. The DS-1800 is ideal for enterprise organizations, including those in financial services and energy.

Twisted Pair’s distinct software-based approach to interoperability not only allows organizations to leverage their existing hardware resources, but also develop customized solutions. The WAVE SDK hides the complexity typically associated with an interoperable VoIP solution and empowers both Windows and Linux developers to quickly build customer- and market-specific WAVE-powered applications.

WAVE 4.5 will be available to WAVE partners and customers starting in December 2008.
